Ensuring continuity across modular learning pathways in Advanced Digital Skills programmes

The challenge?

The challenge involves overcoming dropouts, which drivers include low confidence, lack of belonging and unclear support channels. Overall continuity across modules is often weak.

Our solution

  1. Introduce buddy pairing and cohort kick-off
  2. Describe and explain support channels and “how to succeed”
  3. Schedule regular check-ins
  4. Enable peer Q&A channel

Outcomes

Qualitative outcomes:

  • higher engagement and earlier issue resolution

Expected outcomes:

  • Reduced dropout and increased re-enrolment (to be measured)

Key takeaways

The introduction of retention measures protects the recruitment pipeline. Ensuring a sense of belonging and support is critical.
